SKRT Pets Safety & Use Notice

SKRT Pets pieces are decorative fashion accessories, not pet safety equipment. They are jewelry-style items made for their look. They are not designed, manufactured, tested, rated, or intended to restrain, secure, walk, lead, or control any animal, and must never be relied on as a working collar, leash, harness, or restraint. Please read this notice in full before you buy or use a SKRT Pets item.

Important safety warnings

CHOKING AND INGESTION. SKRT Pets pieces contain small metal parts (links, charms, tags, clasps, and findings) that can detach, loosen, or break off. If swallowed by a pet or a person, these parts can cause choking, internal injury, or intestinal blockage that may require emergency care and can be fatal. If you believe your pet has swallowed any part, contact a veterinarian or emergency animal hospital immediately. If a person is choking or has swallowed a part, seek emergency medical help right away.

STRANGULATION AND ENTANGLEMENT. Any piece worn around an animal's neck can snag on objects, catch on enclosures, or tighten, and may cause choking, strangulation, serious injury, or death. This risk is greatest when an animal is left alone, crated, kenneled, tethered, or unsupervised, including overnight. Never leave a SKRT Pets piece on an animal that is alone, in a crate or carrier, or out of your direct sight.

SHARP EDGES. Metal links and findings can have points, burrs, or edges that may scratch, cut, or injure an animal, a handler, or a child.

BREAKAGE UNDER FORCE. These pieces are decorative and are not built to withstand pulling, tension, chewing, or force. They can bend, fail, or break, without warning, under load.

NOT A CHEW TOY. Do not let any animal bite, chew, or gnaw a SKRT Pets piece. Chewing can break the piece, release small parts, and wear or remove the plating.

How to reduce the risk

• Use only on a calm animal under direct, continuous human supervision.
• Remove the piece whenever the animal is unattended, crated, sleeping, or out of your sight.
• Inspect the piece before every use for loose links, sharp edges, or damage, and stop using it if you find any.
• Keep all pieces, and any part that detaches, out of reach of pets and children except during supervised wear.
• Choose a comfortable fit that is never tight. A piece that is too tight can restrict breathing or injure; one that is too loose can snag or be chewed.

Health, allergy, and material notice

SKRT Pets pieces are gold-plated over a stainless steel base. Some animals and people are sensitive to plated or base metals and may develop skin irritation, contact dermatitis, hair loss, or an allergic reaction. Mouthing or ingesting plated metal can also be harmful. SKRT is a jewelry and fashion company, not a veterinary or pet-safety company. We have not performed animal-safety, toxicity, or durability testing for use on animals, and we make no veterinary, health, or animal-safety claims of any kind. Discontinue use if you notice any irritation or reaction, and consult a qualified veterinarian about what is appropriate and safe for your animal.

Not for restraint or functional use

SKRT Pets items must not be used to restrain, secure, tether, walk, lead, or control any animal, and must not be relied on as a working collar, leash, harness, or restraint of any kind. SKRT does not endorse, recommend, or approve any such use. Any use of a SKRT Pets item as a real or functional collar, leash, or restraint, including unlawfully leashing or restraining an animal, is entirely at the user's own risk and responsibility.

Assumption of risk, and sale AS IS

By buying or using a SKRT Pets item, you accept and assume all risk associated with placing it on, or using it with, an animal. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SKRT Pets items are sold AS IS and AS AVAILABLE for decorative use only, and SKRT disclaims all implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability and any implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, including any purpose of restraining, securing, walking, or controlling an animal. This does not affect any non-waivable statutory rights you may have.

Liability and indemnification

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SKRT and SKRT Jewelry and Apparel LLC are not liable for any injury, death, escape, loss, or harm to any animal, person, or third party, or for any property damage, arising from or relating to the use, misuse, failure, or breakage of a SKRT Pets item, including any use of the item as an actual collar, leash, or restraint.

If you, or anyone who obtains a SKRT Pets item from you (including a gift recipient, household member, dog walker, sitter, groomer, or other person), uses a SKRT Pets item on or with an animal, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SKRT, SKRT Jewelry and Apparel LLC, and its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, brought by any person, animal owner, or third party and arising out of or relating to that use.

Returns and warranty

For hygiene and safety reasons, SKRT Pets items that have been worn by or placed on an animal are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged. The SKRT Lifetime Fade-Free Warranty covers manufacturing defects in plating and construction only, and does not cover chewing, biting, gnawing, pet-inflicted damage, or any damage from using the item as an actual collar, leash, or restraint.
