SKRT stands behind the craftsmanship of every piece we make. All eligible jewelry is covered by our Lifetime Fade-Free Guarantee, for as long as you own the piece, we'll replace it if the 18K gold plating fades or the piece breaks under normal wear.
1. What's covered
Our Lifetime Fade-Free Warranty covers non-custom, 18K gold-plated 316L stainless steel jewelry against the following manufacturing defects under normal everyday wear:
- Plating fade or tarnish, if the 18K gold finish degrades or discolors due to a defect in the plating process
- Clasp or joint failure, if a clasp, jump ring, or solder joint breaks under normal wear (not impact damage)
- Stone loss in pavé settings, if cubic zirconia stones fall out of a hand-set pavé piece (covered for first occurrence; see Section 5 for repeat claims)
- Manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship that affect the piece's appearance or function
If a defect is confirmed, SKRT will, at our discretion:
- Replace the piece with the same item, or
- Replace with an item of equal or lesser value if the original is no longer available, or
- Repair the piece (at SKRT's option)
2. What's NOT covered
The Lifetime Warranty does not cover:
- Custom or made-to-order pieces, these are covered by a separate 30-Day Custom Quality Guarantee (see Section 6)
- Damage from impact, accidents, or misuse, drops, snags, bending, crushing
- Damage from chemical exposure, chlorine, bleach, perfume, lotions, cosmetics, hairspray, harsh cleaners
- Damage from water beyond ordinary contact, submerging in hot water, swimming in chlorinated pools, prolonged soaking
- Damage from improper storage, leaving the piece in damp environments, allowing it to tangle with other jewelry
- Normal wear consistent with the age and use of the piece, light surface marks from years of daily wear
- Loss or theft, please use insurance for these scenarios
- Pierced earrings, final sale, not covered
- Sterling silver (.925) items, covered only against manufacturing defects within 30 days of delivery
- Solid gold pieces (if/when offered), repair available for a fee (see Section 7)
- Apparel, accessories, watch components, covered separately by individual warranties where applicable
- Items purchased from unauthorized resellers, only orders placed directly through SKRT are covered
3. Warranty service fee
To cover the cost of inspection, replacement materials, shipping, and handling, a one-time warranty service fee applies to each claim:

Fees cover inspection, refurbishment or replacement, return shipping, and processing. If a piece is irreparable and a like-for-like replacement is unavailable, the fee will be applied as store credit toward a new piece of equal value.
4. How to file a warranty claim

- Your order number (from confirmation email)
- The name of the piece you're claiming
- Clear photos showing the issue (fade, broken clasp, missing stone, etc.)
- A short description of when the issue first appeared
- Our warranty team will review your claim within 3–5 business days and reply with one of the following:
- Approved, you'll receive instructions to ship the piece back, an estimated turnaround, and an invoice for the warranty service fee
- Need more info, request for additional photos or details
- Declined, if the issue is excluded (impact damage, chemical exposure, etc.), with an explanation
- Once we receive your piece, the standard turnaround for repair or replacement is 2–4 weeks depending on the item and current production schedule.
5. Repeat claims
The Lifetime Warranty covers one like-for-like replacement per product. After a claim has been used on an order:
- A second claim on the same item is available at 50% of the original retail price, capped at a maximum of $99.00, valid for the lifetime of the piece.
- Third and subsequent claims on the same item are not available.
This protects both customers and SKRT against fraud while keeping the lifetime promise meaningful.
6. 30-Day Custom Quality Guarantee
Custom or made-to-order jewelry is final sale, but it's covered by a separate 30-Day Custom Quality Guarantee from the date of delivery:
- Free one-time repair if you experience manufacturing defects or breakage due to a manufacturing fault
- Allow 4–8 weeks from receipt of the piece for the repair to be completed
- The guarantee is void if user damage is detected (water damage, accidental breakage, missing stones from impact)
- After the 30-day window, custom pieces can be repaired for a flat $99 repair fee, plus the cost of any materials (lost stones, replaced findings)
7. Solid gold and other premium tiers
If SKRT introduces solid gold, fine jewelry, or watch lines in the future, those products will carry their own warranty terms, published on the relevant product pages and in this policy. As of the effective date above, SKRT's primary product line is 18K gold-plated 316L stainless steel jewelry, covered by the Lifetime Fade-Free Warranty described above.
8. Caring for your SKRT jewelry to keep your warranty valid
To keep your jewelry beautiful and your warranty in good standing, please follow our Care Instructions (separate policy). In short:
- Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, sleeping, working out, or applying lotions/perfumes
- Store each piece individually in a soft pouch or its original SKRT box
- Clean gently with a soft cloth, never with abrasive cleaners or ultrasonic devices
Damage caused by failure to follow basic care guidelines is not covered under the warranty.
9. Transferring the warranty
The Lifetime Fade-Free Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser of record (the email used at checkout). Gifts received from the original purchaser are covered, but only when the warranty claim is submitted using the original order number.
10. Limitations & exclusions
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by jurisdiction. SKRT's total liability under this warranty is limited to the original purchase price of the affected item. SKRT is not liable for incidental, consequential, or special damages.
This warranty is offered in addition to, and does not affect, any statutory consumer rights that may apply in your jurisdiction.
